About Therapy

Therapeutic Approach

I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and and who are ready to examine what could be better in their lives and relationships. You and I will collaborate to understand your current pain in terms of your past struggles and the protective coping strategies you’ve utilized to make it this far. We will build compassion for parts of you that may be critical, fearful, ashamed or hopeless, and we will study the relationships you have with these parts, with other people, and with the world. We will build the skills you’ll need to regulate your nervous system, inhabit your body more fully, and experience joy, connection and pleasure.

I utilize an integrative approach to psychotherapy, which means that I draw on many different frameworks and theoretical orientations depending on individual client needs and concerns. I practice somatic (body-centered), trauma-informed, Queer- and Trans-affirming, Neurodivergence-affirming, Fat-positive therapy. My approach is strengths-based, which means that we will focus on the resources and skills you already possess and leverage them for healing.

The prospect of healing through psychotherapy can be daunting - but you won’t be going it alone. Once you and I have established a therapeutic relationship, I will be your partner in curiosity and self-exploration as we work toward you living a better life.

Investing in Therapy

Psychotherapy requires an investment of time, energy and money. Investing in your therapy means investing in your self-care.

I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Choice and Cigna (Evernorth) PPO plans.

Before beginning our work together, you will determine your benefits by calling your insurance company.

If you will be paying for sessions out of pocket, your investment is:

  • $150 per session

If you would like to use out-of-network insurance benefits for psychotherapy, I can provide you with a superbill* to submit to your plan for reimbursement.

I also offer a sliding fee scale on a limited basis. Please contact me to learn more.

No Surprises Act

The No Surprises Act, implemented January 1, 2022, requires that healthcare providers furnish clients and patients who are uninsured or paying for services out of pocket with a Good Faith Estimate for services. A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) sets forth the cost of healthcare services. If you are a self-pay psychotherapy client, you are entitled to a GFE at least once per year.

*A superbill documents how much you have paid your provider for services - it’s a specialized receipt. You can submit superbills to your insurance company if you are using out-of-network benefits and they will reimburse you for some or all of your therapy costs based on the type of benefits you have.
